ERC Membership Roster Security and Privacy Statement

The Emergency Response Communications (ERC) Membership Roster is a private resource maintained exclusively for authorized ERC purposes. Access to the roster is restricted to registered ERC members who have been granted access through their individual member accounts.

Information contained within the membership roster may include member names, amateur radio call signs, contact information, communications capabilities, equipment, training, availability, and other information voluntarily provided by members. This information is maintained to help ERC identify available communications resources, coordinate training, support emergency preparedness, and effectively deploy qualified personnel when communications assistance is needed.

Access and Security

Access to the ERC Membership Roster requires an authorized member account and secure login credentials. Members are responsible for protecting their usernames and passwords and must not allow another person to use their account to access the roster.

Roster information is provided solely for legitimate ERC organizational, training, emergency preparedness, communications, and operational purposes.

Confidentiality

Information contained in the ERC Membership Roster is considered private ERC information and is not intended for public distribution.

Members shall not:

  • Share their account credentials with another person.
  • Provide roster access to individuals who are not authorized ERC members.
  • Publish, post, reproduce, or distribute the membership roster publicly.
  • Use roster information for commercial solicitation, advertising, political activity, or unrelated personal purposes.
  • Download, copy, or distribute member information except when reasonably necessary for authorized ERC activities.

Member Responsibility

Every member granted access to the roster shares responsibility for protecting the privacy of fellow ERC members. Information obtained through the roster should be handled with reasonable care and used only for the purpose for which access was provided.

Unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, copying, or distribution of roster information may result in the suspension or termination of roster access and/or ERC membership privileges.

Administrative Access

Authorized ERC administrators may access membership information as necessary to maintain the database, verify membership, manage communications resources, support training, coordinate emergency communications activities, and protect the security and integrity of the ERC system.

Security Notice

While ERC takes reasonable measures to protect membership information, no Internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Members should therefore provide only information appropriate for ERC operational and organizational purposes.

By accessing the ERC Membership Roster, the member acknowledges that the information contained within it is restricted information and agrees to protect the privacy and confidentiality of fellow ERC members and to use the information solely for authorized ERC purposes.
